Charming affordable accommodations and traditional Swiss hospitality in the Heart of Canada's Capital. The Inn is owned and operated by Sabina & Josef Sauter, a Swiss family with Swiss traditions. We would like to welcome you to Gasthaus Switzerland Inn and let you experience our Swiss hospitality.
We have been welcoming guests at Gasthaus Switzerland Inn from around the world since 1985. In 1990, the Inn was fully restored by famous architect Barry Padolsky making our accomodations very cozy and comfortable.
Business or leisure - Our establishment is suitable for business or leisure purposes, as well as romantic getaways. We take pride in providing distinctive, traditional European hospitality, a relaxing atmosphere, as well as a wonderful, traditional Swiss, full buffet breakfast.
Our delicious breakfast starts with fresh ground coffee from our Swiss Espresso machine, tea, orange juice, Bircher-muesli (a Swiss cereal, you must try), homemade bread and jam, a variety of cheeses, eggs, croissants, french-toast and muffins round up this complimentary breakfast. |

Gasthaus Switzerland Inn today is a 22 room non-smoking Bed and Breakfast Inn. We are a proud resident of historic Daly Avenue, in the Nation's Capital. 89 Daly Avenue, originally three seperate units (87, 89 and 91 Daly), has served many different purposes. According to the Ottawa Street Directories, the property was constructed between 1872-73 from limestone in a 19th Century Vernacular Classical Revival. Original residents include; a clerk, Charles Ritchie, a civil servant, George Jarives, and a chemist and druggist , George Mortimer. In 1945 the establishment was converted into an apartment complex, then remodeled into a rooming house and in 1985 it was opened as the Gasthaus Switzerland Inn.
All rooms have private bathrooms, work desk, telephones with data ports and cable television. Some rooms are available with gas fireplace. |
