The Wakefield Mill Inn is the only accommodation surrounded by the natural beauty of Gatineau Park - over 30,000 acres of hills, forest, lakes and streams. The inn is located on the Trans Canada Trail and is connected to over 250 kms of skiing, hiking and cycling trails. This heritage-designated 1838 stone mill straddles what many consider the most picturesque waterfall in Gatineau Park - just ask the painters and photographers who visit the Outaouais region to capture the splendour of what we call home. A short stroll from the inn is the charming village of Wakefield, where visitors enjoy shopping for gifts, books and artwork. The renowned Wakefield Steam Train travels between Hull and Wakefield.

Our incomparable setting and serenity have made the Inn a preferred location for romantic occasions, from honeymoons to anniversaries; we are already the location of choice for Ottawa weddings. Dining is enriched with the regional Quebec cuisine served at the Wakefield Mill. Local ingredients, many of them organically produced, are served using traditional French and Quebecois methods, yet presented with contemporary flair.

Our lodging is distinctive - from rooms with exposed rock walls to suites within a renovated grain silo--and are perfect for that romantic getaway. Some rooms overlook the plunging waterfall of the La P�che River, while other rooms overlook the Gatineau Park. Indeed, the Wakefield Mill is the only country inn accommodation within Gatineau Park.
