Lakeview was built in 1874 by United Empire Loyalists having fled the United States. The inn combines both the charm of a glorious past and the comfort of the modern age. Listed a historic monument, it has maintained its elegance and style of yesteryear. Each studio has been named after an illustrious person who has been a guest at the Inn. Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Sir Robert Borden, the Right Hon. Arthur Meighen, all former Prime Ministers of Canada, and Paul Holland Knowlton, among others. As you enter a studio, you will notice a photograph and biographical notes about the historic figure featured.
