The Muskoka Lakes and the Halliburton Highlands of Central Ontario include the lakes region east of Parry Sound, the towns Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, and Huntsville and it extends into the Halliburton Highlands on the western borders of Algonquin Provincial park. Access to Northern Ontario is through North Bay and Lake Nippissing immediately to the North. There are also several winter recreation and ski centers in the area.
